Reepham Town's head of senior football and first team manager Shane Lutkin spoke this week about the season so far at Reepham Town Football Club.

"Recently, several people have said to me, that it doesn't seem to be going very well at Reepham Town. I have to say that I am a little shocked if that is the perception of others. I have to say that we are on schedule when one considers the greater scheme of things. I am positive and confident."

He continued: "Last season we had a great year where the first team won the Junior Knock-Out Ccup and, along with the Sunday team, got promoted. And the U16 team won everything

in sight.

"It is true that the first team is having a transitional season but, as the word transitional suggests, we are adjusting in the first team to playing in a higher division and preparing to push on next term.

"Looking at the four senior men's teams as a whole, this season is progressing strongly and we may well end up with more tangible success than last year.

"The A team, in their inaugural season, are well in touch with the top of the table. The Reserves are on course for a promotion challenge from Division Six if they keep playing as they have been, and the Sunday team are top of their divisional table.

"The youth and girls' teams are progressing well and we aim to build the youth side of the club in a measured manner."

Lutkin added: "Whilst winning is essential, a football club isn't all about results and what happens on a Saturday afternoon. Off the pitch at Reepham, in the backroom, so to speak, we have a fabulous set-up. Lots of people work incredibly hard. They are the unsung heroes and this club we are very fortunate to have such a great group of people, all pulling in the same direction.

"We are constantly improving upon a great infrastructure here. I am optimistic that we will move

forward and attain our targets as per our plan."

Horsford United 1, Reepham Town 4

Following a frenetic first 10 minutes from the home team, this game was controlled by Reepham.

Martin Bramble and Matty Huckle at centre-backs settled and the amount of opportunities the home team had were limited to a clutch of set pieces and shots from distance.

On 15 minutes Kevin Winkworth lashed in a great left footer past Shaun Dawson. Almost immediately Horsford equalised with Stuart Clarke's well-placed looping header.

Second half Kevin White scored good goals either side of a Bramble headed goal. Some great football saw the Robins press for remainder of the game.

Meloncollie Rose of Reepham MoM was shared between defenders Martin Bramble and Matty Huckle.

This Saturday Reepham Town travel to Wymondham.
