Colkirk jazz date
On Saturday, May 9, the stage at Colkirk Village Hall will be filled with a jazz band dressed in black bowler hats, striped waistcoats and bow ties; several dozen people dressed as everything from Hollywood starlets,1920's Chicago gangsters, superheroes and cowboys as the village celebrates American Night.
On Saturday, May 9, the stage at Colkirk Village Hall will be filled with a jazz band dressed in black bowler hats, striped waistcoats and bow ties; several dozen people dressed as everything from Hollywood starlets,1920's Chicago gangsters, superheroes and cowboys as the village celebrates American Night.
At the front of the assembled crowd, the chairman of Colkirk Parish Council and the chairman of the Friends of Colkirk Village will be proudly displaying the giant cheque from Awards for All whose �4874 grant has enabled the purchase of the stage which will be in use for the first time that evening.
The hall itself will be transformed into the USA with giant panoramas of the American wild west, a Statue of Liberty, life size Marilyn Monroes and Elvis Presleys, the iconic “HOLLYWOOD” sign, American flags and bunting.
