Flat colours and dark shadows feature in north Norfolk artist’s new exhibition
North Norfolk’s light, decaying boats, buildings and sea defences are depicted in an upcoming exhibition.
Trevor Woods, an artist based in Wells, will host an Exploring North Norfolk exhibition at Gallery Plus in the town from Saturday, May 26 to Saturday, June 9.
Mr Woods owns the Warham Road gallery with his wife, Jo, and has been painting professionally for more than 12 years.
His distinctive, graphic style has allowed him to develop the skill of breaking down views into their raw elements: clean lines, flat colours, and dark shadows.
He said his painting were just as much about what was left out as what was included.
Scenes depicted include one of Wells at low tide, another of the town’s whelk sheds and one of the sea defences at Mundesley.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday, May 27 and Bank Holiday Monday, May 28 11am-4pm.
